What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $55 for a service call, a lot of the times I can fix a door just for this. Plus I go through an inspect the whole door, adjust if needed, and lubricate the rollers, hinges, and bearings.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, there are a few webinars I get in on. Like anything, garage doors and openers are evolving, so I try and stay up on the latest technology.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started working for a company in Boise, found a trade I really liked doing.

Usually repair work, most common are broken springs or opener issues

That they are licensed and insured

It takes some carpentry skills, electrical knowledge, and mechanical experience to make a door installer.
